For our plasma treatments we use Plasma Pen, a leader in non-surgical nitrogen plasma. Plasma Pen is perfect for skin-tightening almost anywhere on the body. This procedure is designed to minimize downtime and recovery. Is Plasma Pen right for you? We would love to discuss it at a consultation. What is Plasma Pen & Fibroblast Therapy? Fibroblasts are the part of your skin that produce collagen and elastin that keeps your skin tight, smooth, and hydrated. Many skincare products and procedures focus on methods that increase collagen or elastin in your skin, but fibroblast therapy uses plasma to help our bodies naturally produce more collagen and elastin. Plasma Pen is a nonsurgical procedure that can treat almost any area of the body. It is commonly used around the face to treat smile lines and issues with wrinkly sagging skin around the jawline. What To Expect: Plasma Pen an example of a plasma pen treatment Plasma Pen works by using nitrogen plasma gas. During your treatment ionized plasma gas is released from the pen to right above the skin. This gas causes superficial trauma which stimulates your skin rebuild and produce more collagen and elastin. It is similar to how any muscle training works, by superficially tearing and stretching our muscles during a workout our bodies will repair them stronger than they were before. In the same way during a plasma treatment your skin will get dozens of plasma bursts on the epidermal layer of your skin that will cause your skin to produce more collagen and elastin naturally. The Plasma Pen Process The First 3-7 Days After Treatment: Although Plasma Pen treatments are minimally invasive and require little downtime, there still is necessary recovery.   At Kathryn Russo Medical Aesthetics we provide procedures that are designed to help both men and women with their aesthetic goals. This includes procedures that help smooth skin and boost collagen production. However, we also provide medical procedures that can help boost women’s sexual health. Sexual health is often stigmatized and not talked about enough. Women should feel empowered to address issues they might have with their sexual well-being. We offer PRP treatments in our office that can improve sexual health as well as tools that can be used at home to help improve sexual health. What is PRP and How Can It Improve Sexual Health PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. In our blood, there are a few different types of cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body which helps our muscles function. White blood cells can help fight disease by getting rid of bacteria and viruses. Platelets are responsible for how our body heals. When you get a paper cut or a scrape on your skin it is the platelets that initiate the healing process and the development of new skin cells. Platelet-rich plasma procedures work by using your body’s own platelets to encourage healing around the body. PRP injections have been used to treat hair loss, joint pain, and can help with sexual health issues. Blood is drawn from a patient and the platelets are isolated. They are then used to encourage the body to create new skin cells. How Does The O-Shot Work? At Kathryn Russo Medical Aesthetics we provide the O-Shot. This special PRP procedure uses platelet rich plasma to encourage restoration of cells and skin tissue in the vaginal areas. The O-shot doesn’t use drugs or medication to achieve this. It simply uses your own natural platelets to encourage blood flow in the areas responsible for sexual pleasure. The O-shot can help women with the following issues: Urinary Incontinence Vaginal Dryness Sexual Dysfunction Pain during intercourse Inability or decreased ability to orgasm Weakness or pain in the pelvic floor What Is Joylux And How Does It Work? Our office also provides Joylux products for at-home use. Joylux is a sexual wellness brand that provides equipment that can help women improve menopause symptoms at home. Using red light technology, JoyLux products can help increase blood flow in the vaginal area as well as increase collagen production. Red light stimulates mitochondria in the body’s cells that in turn increase the production of ATP (adenosine triphophate) and NO (Nitric Oxide). ATP is often referred to as an energy source, increased ATP production can lead to increased collagen which leads to repaired skin cells and tissue throughout the treated area.
